Club / Company Biography

Introduction
What makes Longlevens RFC a unique sponsorship proposition compared to other clubs is that we put participation first, proven by our club being the first in Gloucestershire to have a mixed ability team at both junior and senior levels.

With four senior teams, a walking rugby team, and the full range of junior age groups we offer the opportunity to everyone to play rugby regardless of age or ability. It also means that we have a genuine connection to the community, which your business or brand can benefit from.

We have enjoyed award winning success for our commercial and charitable partnerships:

August 2018  – Our sponsor shortlisted for ‘Sponsor of the Year’ by Longlevens RFC at the Crabbies national Rugby Awards for their support of the Mixed Ability Rugby project.
September 2018 – Our sponsor won the Ageas Award at The Local Business Charity Awards following their nomination by Longlevens RFC for their support of the Mixed Ability Rugby project.
September 2018 – Elliot Fortey of Longlevens Rugby Club wins Volunteer of the Year at the Mitsubishi Motors Volunteer of the Year Awards.
October 2018 – Our sponsor was shortlisted for the Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the Gloucestershire Business Awards for their work implementing and sustaining Mixed Ability Rugby in Gloucestershire

Overview

Longlevens RFC’s strategic goal is focused on inclusivity and becoming an integral part of our local community. Whilst our 1st XV has enjoyed success playing at Twickenham stadium (winning the RFU Junior Vase in 2014, our junior age groups have produced Sam Underhill (England & Bath) and Tom Griffiths (Saracens) in recent years. We are also very proud of our close partnerships with the Wooden Spoon Charity (we are a partner club) and The Milestone Special needs school next door.
Players from our membership also teach rugby to disabled students at The Milestone School next door to the club, one of the biggest special needs schools in the UK.
We believe that because of these relationships we offer a unique proposition to any incoming sponsor of the club with shared values around inclusivity, equality and diversity, and a similar love and passion for rugby.
We also work hard commercially to put on guest speakers and run bespoke events throughout the year, as well as host regular weekly events at the club (e.g. Televising rugby, football, boxing matches, Beer & Curry nights), resulting in our club being used 7 days of the week. In 2016 we had the privilege of winning ‘Best Community Event’ at the Believe in Gloucester Awards for our Summer Rugby Festival. Our Summer Festival continues to grow and happens every July.
Longlevens RFC are a forward thinking club and have fully embraced social media to help us achieve the growth we have to date, and we would encourage you to visit our Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Instagram accounts to see all the great work we are up to.
